Hi! I’m Lolly Walsh. I’m the writer, substitute teacher, dreamer, weird aunt, and joyful and relentless problem solver bringing you the School of Math and Wonder.
I’ve been working as a substitute teacher since 2024 when I moved to the Twin Cities from New Orleans. Living in Minnesota, I have spent a LOT more time inside than I used to and one winter night I started messing around with MATH WORKSHEETS, because I’m so extremely fun… I guess?!?
Seriously, I was doing this at night after subbing all day. (I’m really fun at parties?)
why so many NAMES!
Started out as Laura, like so many millions of other girls growing up in the 1980s and 90s.
Twenty years ago one friend started calling me Lolly which is a “non-traditional nickname” for Laura and almost everyone’s called me Lolly since then.
When I work as a substitute teacher, kids call me Ms. Lolly but for the very tiniest, Ms. Lollipop!
